Concept
FaceOff combines physical activity with strategic gameplay. Move around in the real world while your phone camera becomes your weapon. The facial recognition AI instantly and accurately identifies targets.
How to Play
- Getting Ready
- Download the app from the App Store. Currently, FaceOff is only available for iOS users. We are actively working on releasing a version for Android users.
- Find a group to play with. The game works better with more people, but you need around 6 people.
- Find a place to play. It can be indoors or outdoors. The game requires at least a weak internet connection. The play area governs the type of game you'll experience. For example, the more obstacles there are, the more strategic the session will become (but also the less viable shots you'll obtain).
- Set-Up
- Designate a group leader. They will create a room with a defined game code. Everyone else should join a room with this code.
- Decide on teams; the group leader can assign players to teams based on the decisions the group makes.
- Every person in the lobby needs to choose a champion. This is the character that they will be playing as for the duration of the game.
- The Game
- Earn gold by landing shots on enemies.
- Purchase items from the in-game shop with gold you've earned. These items will allow you to do more damage, take less damage, earn more gold, and revive others, among other abilities.
- Land killing blows on enemies for additional gold.
- WIN CONDITION: THE TEAM WITH THE MOST GOLD AT THE END OF THE GAME WINS.
- Note: The winner is not the team with the most accumulated gold. It is the team with the most gold.
- Note: This means that if you spend all your gold on items at the end of the game, your team will probably lose.
- Note: One strategy could thus be to spend gold in the shop for the first half of the game and save gold during the second half. The game is all about resource management.
